Kudat In Sabah

Kudat Peninsula is located at the northern most tip of Sabah, otherwise known as the Simpang Mengayau. The majority here are people from the Rungus tribe. Here, each village is reputable for its individual trade; honey from Gombizau, gongs from Sumangkap, beads from Tinanggol and the long house living culture of Bavanggazo. Kudat is a famous destination for scuba diving, and it is said that the best of Sabah's seafood comes from Kudat.

Sabah The Most Great Place In Malaysia

Kota Kinabalu is the state capital and international gateway to the rest of Sabah with connection to various destinations in Asia and Australia. It is a very modern city with various shopping nightlife facilities. A major attraction is Mount Kinabalu in the Kinabalu National Park, a world heritage site only two hours from Kota Kinabalu by road. It is the highest mountain in Southeast Asia, standing at a majestic 4,095.2m (13,432.26 ft).
Tunku Abdul Rahman Park, named after Malaysia's first Prime Minister, is a marine park encompassing five islands. It is famous for its crystal waters and beautiful corals. From Kota Kinabalu, other recommended attractions include the Monsopiad Cultural Village, Rafflesia Forest Reserve, and Crocker Range National Park.

Macau View

I first visited Macau in 1974 as an exchange student in Hong Kong. At that time, the Lisboa hotel and casino (the round building in the lower left corner of this photo) was the tallest building in this quaint Portuguese backwater. Macau has changed a lot over the years and recently replaced Las Vegas the the world's leader in gaming revenues. I tend to experience some level of culture shock every time I go there, though I have long ago given up my nostalgia for the old Macau that I absolutely loved to visit. A couple of weeks ago I visited Macau again and got a chance to see (and be shocked by) what I consider to be the ugliest building in the world, the New Lisboa.
The casino part of the New Lisboa is in the gold bulb, while the hotel is currently under construction in the tower behind the casino. The New Lisboa is taller than any of the other buildings and looms over the old historic district of Macau. It can be seen from almost any point on the peninsula and looks like a Japanese robot transformer toy. In my opinion, this is clearly the ugliest building in the world, both in its architectural style and in its impact on the city of Macau.

Langkawi Geopark,Malaysia

The Langkawi Geopark, comprising all of the 99 islands in the Langkawi archipelago is Malaysia’s first geopark. It is located in the north western corner of peninsular Malaysia within the State of Kedah. The total land area of Langkawi Geopark is about 478 square kilometres. The main island is accessible by sea from Kuala Perlis , Kuala Kedah and Penang or by air from Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Singapore.
Identified as the 'birthplace' or fetus land of the region, the terrain and natural landscape reflect the geo-diversity of the islands that is deeply entrenched within the complex geological history of the area. Langkawi Geopark has the best-exposed and most complete Palaeozoic sedimentary sequence in Malaysia originating from the beginning of the Cambrian to the Permian period.
Later, during the Mesozoic era, the islands underwent a major tectonic even that resulted in the emplacement of its numerous granitic igneous bodies. This incredible power generated by nature from deep beneath the earth's mantle had pushed up huge blocks of older rocks and placed them above a very much younger terrain.
